What We Do

qué hacemos Helsinki España

Helsinki España – Dimensión Humana

Helsinki España’s work is structured around two main areas of action:

Programs for university students and youth change-makers in Spain:

🔹 We promote human rights awareness and dissemination through conferences, seminars, workshops, and educational projects such as Youth for Youth.

🔹 We develop youth training and empowerment, fostering skills in leadership, active citizenship, and democratic participation.

🔹 We encourage volunteering, both as a tool for social transformation and as a core practice within the organization: many activities, campaigns, and projects are sustained thanks to the active involvement of young volunteers.

🔹 We support youth employment initiatives as a means of social cohesion, facilitating access to professional opportunities in fields related to cooperation, human rights, and peacebuilding.

Our programs are funded through public grants, private funds, and donations, ensuring transparency and efficiency in resource management.

International training through the IUCPM (International University Centre of Peace Missions):

🔹 We provide specialized programs and ad hoc training, including our REACT and HEAT, on conflict analysis, prevention and resolution, peacebuilding, field security, protection of civilians, and Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR).

🔹 We design activities targeting social leaders, aid workers, diplomats, military personnel, and humanitarian professionals seeking to strengthen their skills to work in complex international environments.

We collaborate with a broad international network of experts from the United Nations, OSCE, NATO, the European Union, universities, and civil society, ensuring a multidisciplinary approach and academic excellence.
