The first stage of the project will take place in Santiago de Compostela from October 13th to 16th. During these days, university student volunteers will be welcomed at the Faculty of Law of the University of Santiago de Compostela and will take part in workshops and talks delivered by Helsinki España and our partner organisations. The aim is to train them as agents of change and equip them with the knowledge and tools to bring what they have learned into the classroom, working with children and adolescents through participatory workshops and activities.
This inaugural session marks the beginning of a training programme focused on key areas that contribute to building an inclusive, peaceful global society committed to Human Rights.
Topics covered include human rights, gender equality, migration and refugee issues, cybersecurity and cyberbullying, homelessness, addiction prevention, and mental health.
Throughout the academic year, the project will be implemented across 15 autonomous communities, strengthening its national reach and its educational and social impact in universities and educational institutions throughout Spain. With 25 years of experience and thousands of young volunteers, Young People for Young People has become one of Helsinki España’s flagship programmes in the field of global citizenship education and youth participation.
At Helsinki España, we would like to thank the partner institutions, as well as the technical and training teams, and recognise the commitment of all the volunteers who make it possible for education, social awareness and transformative action to continue moving forward hand in hand.
