Training on Security and Self-Protection in risk areas
Background Information
The SECURITY AND SELF-PROTECTION IN RISK AREAS training is an intensive three-day program designed to prepare professionals working in conflict or high-risk environments with elevated levels of violence and criminality. Participants will learn to effectively handle critical or emergency situations, ensuring their safety while performing their professional duties in hostile environments.
Origin
Since 2003, Helsinki España has developed the HEAT (Hostile Environment Awareness Training) training, benefiting over 500 students across 25 editions. This training, focused on peace missions and high-risk situations, is part of our REACT program (Rapid Expert Assistance and Cooperation Teams for conflict prevention, crisis management, and post-conflict rehabilitation). The need to train professionals working in risky situations led Helsinki España to launch the SECURITY AND SELF-PROTECTION IN RISK AREAS training, aimed at companies with employees in highly vulnerable contexts, such as areas with high criminality, political instability and natural disasters.
Objectives
- Risk Identification, Anticipation, and Management: Equip participants with the skills to detect and assess potential risks in hazardous environments, enabling them to anticipate threats and manage crisis situations effectively, minimizing their impact.
- Preservation of Physical Integrity and Rapid Response: Provide the necessary tools and techniques to ensure the physical safety of employees, including swift and effective actions in the event of injuries or physical threats.
- Mental Health Management: Develop strategies to maintain emotional well-being and manage anxiety before, during, and after crisis situations, ensuring a balanced and sustained response in high-pressure contexts.
Methodology
The standard training spans three days and includes practical and dynamic training, focusing on the simulation of real-life scenarios through role-playing exercises and drills. The training will be delivered by professionals with extensive experience in the field of security, both in the civil and military sectors, and experts in trauma psychology and first aid.
