The Contribution Of The Spanish Armed Forces To International Peace And Respect For Human Rights

In Helsinki España we are committed to the right of peoples to peace; and therefore, we make available our best resources to fulfill this objective.

Through training we raise awareness of the global problems that endanger peace and international security, as well as the mechanisms at the disposal of the international community to anticipate, respond to and solve conflicts. We educate and engage young professionals so that they can be an active part of the international community’s efforts to maintain peace and global security.

“The Contribution of the Spanish Armed Forces to International Peace and Respect for Human Rights” is a one-and-a-half-day conference aimed at university students and professors, whose aim is to improve young people’s knowledge of the role played by the Spanish Armed Forces in their international efforts to maintain peace in the world and to defend what we know as human rights, as well as the impact of these actions on national security.

Specific Objectives

  • Increase the knowledge of young Spaniards about the risks that threaten international peace and security today, as well as the impact of these risks and threats on national security and on the work of the Spanish Armed Forces.
  • Improve young people’s understanding of the contribution of the Spanish Armed Forces to international peace and their role in the operations of international agencies such as the United Nations and the European Union.
  • Enhance knowledge about the work of the armed forces for the defense of human rights, especially the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda.
